At its core, Union Apparel is an initiative that points people to the word of God by using real life stories and artist collaborations.
When God first put this idea on my heart, I was in the middle of a crisis. My mom had just passed away and my family and I were dealing with an eviction notice and had two months to leave our home of six years and find a new place.
I was part of a men’s Bible study at the time and we were in the book of John discussing how Jesus was the ‘Bread of Life’ (John 6:35). I found great comfort in that verse and really leaned on Jesus for peace, guidance, deliverance, and wisdom. As I “ate” from the ‘Bread of Life’, God’s favour came upon me in ways I can’t even begin to articulate. I had a deep and profound peace even though my outside world was falling apart.
God provided assurance and peace around my mom’s passing, and provided a home for us, both in the most miraculous and divine of ways. This maiden collection named ‘Bread of Life’ is very autobiographical in nature. I picked these verses because they were - and continue to be - a source of peace and hope for me. And it is my prayer that each and every one of you gets to eat from this ‘Bread of Life’ and experience first hand how Jesus takes care of ALL our needs and all we have to do is believe.
